2c Carmine, Ty. I (463). Mint N.H. plate no. 7867 block of six with wide selvage, brilliant color, gorgeous centering, Extremely Fine, with 2012 P.S.E. certificate (VF-XF 85)
5c Carmine, Error (467). Mint N.H., enormous margins with significant portions of all eight adjoining stamps, the stamp itself is beautifully centered, brilliant colorEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE DESIRABLE 5-CENT PERF 10 ERROR.
During the course of production of the normal 2c plate No. 7942, three positions were noted to be defective. The plate was returned to the siderographer, who burnished out the three positions and mistakenly re-entered them using a transfer roll for the 5c stamp. The error passed unnoticed and the sheets were issued to the public in Perf 10, Imperforate and Perf 11 formats (Scott 467, 485 and 505).

Ex Merlin. With 1997 P.F., 2011 and 2017 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98 Jumbo; SMQ $2,800.00 as 98). Only one has been graded higher (at 100) and no others share this lofty grade

Collectors waiting for a Mint N.H. example of this plate block would be well advised to consider this lightly-hinged example, as we have not offered any in Mint N.H. condition since keeping computerized records.

Left plate no. 6908 block of six, positions 1 and 4-6 Mint N.H., others lightly hinged, rich color, well-proportioned margins, top right stamp light diagonal crease, appears Very Fine, a scarce plate block of this issue, we have not offered any in Mint N.H. condition since keeping computerized records, with 2014 P.F. certificate
30c Orange Red, Perf 10 (476A). Position 32 from plate 6911, Mint N.H., very deep and intense color on bright white paper, sharp proof-like impression, well-centered for this difficult issue with wide margins on all sidesEXTREMELY FINE. EASILY ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES OF THE VERY RARE 30-CENT PERF 10 WASHINGTON-FRANKLIN ON UNWATERMARKED PAPER. A REMARKABLE STAMP IN TERMS OF COLOR, CENTERING, FRESHNESS OF PAPER AND CENTERING FOR THIS ISSUE.
The 30c Perf 10 Unwatermarked, Scott 476A, has no trace of the single-line watermark. Although one or two stamps from the discovery sheets have been found with "ghost" watermarks, the Scott Catalogue and the Philatelic Foundation continue to recognize Scott 476A.

Bottom imprint, plate no. 5782 and letter "A" block of six, top right stamp and bottom left pair Mint N.H., choice wide margins throughout, the top stamps exceptionally well-centered, deep rich color, bottom left stamp inconsequential slight perf disc indentationVERY FINE-EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL PLATE BLOCK OF SIX OF THE $1.00 PERF 10 UNWATERMARKED FRANKLIN ISSUE.
Lewis Kaufman records only nine top and four bottom plate blocks of Scott 478. Plate 5782 was the only plate prepared for each of the $1.00 Franklin issues (Scott 423, 460, 478 and 518).
