10c Orange Yellow (472). Mint N.H., vivid color as fresh as the day it was printed, mathematically perfect centering with wide margins, long and full perforations all aroundEXTREMELY FINE GEM. THIS STUNNING MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1916 10-CENT PERF 10 UNWATERMARKED ISSUE IS GRADED GEM 100 BY P.S.E. -- THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED AND THE ONLY EXAMPLE TO ACHIEVE IT.
Ex Merlin. With 2011 P.S.E. certificate (Gem 100; SMQ $9,750.00). This is the highest grade awarded and has been equaled by no others. The 1916-17 Perf 10 Unwatermarked Issue (Scott 462-480) is difficult to obtain in the higher grades. For the 20 Scott numbers in the series only nine Mint N.H. stamps representing eight different numbers have been graded Gem 100

12c Claret Brown (474). Mint N.H., rich color on bright paper, wide and balanced margins, Extremely Fine Gem, with 1996 P.F. and 2010 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $1,000.00), only five have graded higher (95J, three 98 and one 98J), we have offered only one higher than a 95 (a 98, in 2009)
15c Gray (475). Mint N.H., radiant color on crisp paper, perfectly centered with wide marginsEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A REMARKABLE MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1916 15-CENT PERF 10 UNWATERMARKED ISSUE, WHICH IS GRADED SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E. -- THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED.
According to Johl (p. 289), the only difference between this issue and the one before it is the absence of a watermark. It is difficult to see a watermark on the 15c stamp, so it was generally assumed that no change had taken place with this denomination, and was therefore overlooked by collectors. It was current for only six months.

20c Light Ultramarine (476). Mint N.H., brilliant color on bright paper, essentially perfect centering, long and full perforationsEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A GORGEOUS MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 20-CENT UNWATERMARKED PERF 10 FRANKLIN ISSUE, SCOTT 476.
With 1988 and 1997 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98; SMQ $8,000.00). Only one has graded higher (at 98J, offered in our recent Hanover sale) and only five others share this desirable grade
20c Light Ultramarine (476). Mint N.H., rich color, Jumbo margins and nicely centered, Extremely Fine, with 1989 P.F. and 2009 P.S.E. certificates (XF 90 Jumbo; SMQ $1,500.00)

50c Light Violet (477). Mint N.H. with bottom selvage, brilliant color, unusually wide and balanced marginsEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A BEAUTIFUL MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 50-CENT PERF 10 UNWATERMARKED FRANKLIN ISSUE, WHICH IS GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 BY P.S.E. ONLY THREE HAVE GRADED HIGHER.
With 2004 P.F. and 2002 and 2005 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $6,850.00). Only three have graded higher (all at 98, we just sold one for $11,500 hammer in our recent Hanover sale) and only seven others share this grade, a statistic that has not changed in five years. This is the first in this grade we have offered since 2013
50c Light Violet (477). Hinged at top, rich color, attractive centering and margins, Very Fine, with 1991 P.F. certificate
$1.00 Violet Black (478). Mint N.H., rich color and proof-like impression, unusually wide marginsEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB EXAMPLE OF THE $1.00 PERF 10 UNWATERMARKED FRANKLIN ISSUE, GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 BY P.S.E. ONLY TWO HAVE GRADED HIGHER.
This issue was in use for less than six months before the Perf 11 stamps were produced. Due to its short production run and it differing from the previous $1.00 issue (Scott 460) only by its lack of a watermark, many collectors and dealers of the day overlooked this issue.
With 1998 and 2009 P.F. and 2011 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $5,750.00). Only two have graded higher (both at 98, one realized $13,500 in a 2013 auction) and only eleven others share this grade, a statistic that his not changed since 2013
