Mint N.H., excellent centering and much wider margins than typically found, attractive color, Extremely Fine Gem, this is one of the most difficult stamp of all the Panama-Pacific issue to find in this premium Mint N.H. quality, with 2004 P.S.E. certificate (Superb 98; SMQ $2,400.00), only two grade higher and six equal, the much higher priced Scott 404, with far fewer stamps issued, has nine graded 98 or higher

Long before numerical grading, the rarity of 10c Panama-Pacific Perf 10 stamps in superb condition (hinged or not) was well-established. The 10-gauge perfs on this issue are almost always uneven or shortened from separation. Centering is rarely above Fine. This stamp is the exception on both counts.
