Maroon-colored label with "Forwarded Due 3 Cents" handstamp, 3c Rose (65) and label tied by "Leominster Ms. Jan. 3" circular datestamp on forwarded cover to Northboro, stamp originally tied by blue grid with Louisville Ky. double-circle datestamp at right, cover edge nick at extreme bottom right, striking cover and very scarce, also incl. ordinary 3c 1861 cover with Leominster Ms. circular datestamp with stamp cancelled by the same "3" handstamp used on the provisional label, with 1998 P.F. certificate

J1 (four) and J3 (two) and tied by Christiana double-circle datestamps, then forwarded to Greencastle, Ind with "T" and "Centimes 15" duplex due handstamp, blue embossed seal of the Norwegian Consulate on back flap, cover opened to show both sides, Fine, colorful and very scarce usage

Oct. 2, 1895 waving flag machine cancel (short paid 1c), overall Fine and scarce

-1/2c Olive Brown, Diagonal "Postage Due" Ovpt. (551 var.). On unsealed cover with 1c Green (552) tied by San Francisco Cal. May 5, 1925 slogan machine cancel, -1/2c with blue horizontal crayon line precancel, purple "POSTAGE DUE -1/2 Cents" handstamp above (-1/2 in pencil), the 1-1/2c rate conforms to the unsealed envelope rate in effect at the time, Very Fine and very scarce, also incl. unused overprinted single, photocopy of 1990 letter from Clyde Jennings showing copy of a similar cover from his collection

Bureau Issue Provisional Postage Due Bisects. Two items, first is vertical bisect of No. J39 with press-printed "Due I Cent" surcharge ("1" is Roman numeral), on piece tied by odd cut cork, Jefferson Iowa May 18, 1896 circular datestamp to the left, 2c Carmine, Ty. I (265) plate no. 214 single tied by Buffalo N.Y. May 1, 1896 machine cancel, other is locally used 1c Blue entire with upper diagonal half of No. J39 with "Due 1" handstamp tied by Clinton, Iowa Feb. 14, 1896 oval grid duplex (perhaps had a valentine enclosure), cover filing crease toward bottom, Fine lot, the Jefferson is well-known and was probably created because of 1c Postage Due stamp shortage
