A SUPERB EXAMPLE OF THE 12-CENT 1875 NEWSPAPER SPECIAL PRINTING, GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 JUMBO BY P.S.E. -- THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE TO ACHIEVE THIS GRADE TO DATE.
P.S.E. encapsulated (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo; unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 95, SMQ $4,050.00 as 95). This is the highest grade awarded to date in the P.S.E. Population Report and no others share this grade. There are only 32 1875 Newspaper Special Printings in the P.S.E. Population Report from the 2c to $1.92 with some values yet to appear in the census. We view this as a small number, most likely due to the great difficulty in finding stamps that would receive a reasonably high grade, since the vast majority has centering or perforation problems, and sometimes both.
