THIS IS THE EARLIEST DOCUMENTED USE OF THE 1927 10-CENT SPECIAL DELIVERY ISSUE, SCOTT E15. THIS PREDATES THE OFFICIAL FIRST DAY BY TWELVE DAYS. AN IMPORTANT BACK-OF-BOOK ITEM.

This is most likely non-philatelic in origin and contained legal documents that needed to be "rushed" to Washington's Patent Office.
