15c Brown & Blue, Ty. I (118). Original gum, deep rich colors and proof-like impressions on crisp paper, most recent certificate states reperfed at top, but we do not agreeEXTREMELY FINE APPEARING ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 15-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE.
With 1995 P.F. certificate as sound. With 2009 P.S.E. certificate as reperfed at top. The width of the margins at top and bottom and a match-up of perfs using Photoshop lead us to conclude that this stamp is not reperfed

With 1986 P.F. certificate. Scott Retail as original gum
15c Brown & Blue, Ty. I (118). Brilliant colors, choice centering with Jumbo margins, neat strike of cork cancel at top, Extremely Fine, a huge stamp, this issue is rarely found with such Jumbo margins, with 2010 P.S.E. certificate (VF-XF 85 Jumbo; SMQ $950.00 as 85, $1,600.00 as 90), in our opinion this is undergraded

The extra wide margins on three sides almost qualify it for a Very Fine grade

30c Ultramarine & Carmine, Double Paper, Without Grill (121 var). Original gum, rich colors, typical centering, Fine, scarce 30c 1869 variety closely related to Scott 121a
30c Ultramarine & Carmine, Without Grill (121a). Unused (no gum), nicely centered with beautiful colors, tiny insignificant inclusion speck above eagle's neckVERY FINE. A RARE 30-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL WITHOUT GRILL VARIETY.
This is the true Scott 121a, which is often confused with the Double Paper, Without Grill variety (offered in the previous lot). The shade and impression are noticeably different between the two.
