1c Ultramarine (156). Original gum, lightly hinged, incredible Jumbo margins and near perfect centering, bright colorEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB JUMBO EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT 1873 CONTINENTAL BANK NOTE ISSUE THAT APPEARS ALMOST LIKE A PERFORATED SMALL DIE PROOF.
With 1999 P.F. and 2009 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo; SMQ $1,350.00 as 95, $2,650.00 as 98), this is the highest grade awarded to date, and no other examples share this grade
3c Green (158). Mint N.H., rich color and crisp paper which is as fresh as the day it was printed, perfectly centered with Jumbo margins all aroundEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A MAGNIFICENT MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT 1873 CONTINENTAL BANK NOTE COMPANY ISSUE IN THE FINEST CONDITION ATTAINABLE.
This stamp has every quality one could ask for -- pristine Mint Never-Hinged gum, beautiful color, perfect centering, wide margins and a detailed impression.
Ex Scarsdale. With 2000 P.F. and 2006 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo; unpriced in SMQ in Mint N.H. condition). Only one has graded higher to date, and this is the only example to achieve this grade. Scott Retail as hinged does not even begin to approach its value in today's marketplace
