Horizontal pair, Positions 14-15, original gum, large to full margins, beautiful shade and detailed impressionVERY FINE AND CHOICE ORIGINAL-GUM PAIR OF THE 5-CENT NEW YORK POSTMASTER'S PROVISIONAL ISSUE WITH "ACM" INITIALS CONNECTED. ORIGINAL-GUM SINGLES AND MULTIPLES OF THE NEW YORK PROVISIONAL ARE EXTREMELY RARE.
We are aware of perhaps a half-dozen or so original-gum pairs. Of these, most have faults, including one with margin significantly in at bottom, and a horizontal strip of four with a heavy crease.
With 1994 and 2006 P.F. certificates. Scott pricing note states: "Nos. 9X1-9X3 and varieties unused are valued without gum. Examples with original gum are extremely scarce and will command higher prices."

Providence R.I., 5c Gray Black (10X1). Position 8, small part original gum, choice large balanced margins, clear impression, Extremely Fine Gem, with 1994 and 2005 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95)
Providence R.I., 10c Gray Black (10X2). Unused (no gum), large margins, sharp impression on bright fresh paper, Extremely Fine, with 1964 P.F. certificate
Providence R.I., 10c Gray Black (10X2). Unused (no gum), margins all around, tiny corner crease top right, otherwise Very Fine, ex Back, with 1976 P.F. certificate and 1994 P.S.E. certificates not mentioning the trivial crease, and 2005 P.S.E. certificate which does (VG-F 60)
St. Louis Mo., 10c Black on Greenish (11X2). Type II, Position 4, large margins all around, without pen cancellation, tied by red "St. Louis Mo. Nov. 29" circular datestamp on small piece (couple creases and thin in piece only, the stamp is sound)EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 10-CENT ST. LOUIS POSTMASTER'S PROVISIONAL CANCELLED SOLELY BY THE RED CIRCULAR DATESTAMP.
With 1993 P.F. certificate. Scott Retail $7,000.00 for normally pen-cancelled stamp off cover -- Scott pricing note states: "Values for used off-cover stamps are for pen-cancelled copies. Handstamp cancelled copies sell for much more."
St. Louis Mo., 10c Black on Greenish (11X2). Type III, Position 6, light strike of red circular datestamp cancel at bottom right leaves design clearly visible, without the usual pen cancel, faint crease, piece missing from top left, still an acceptable example of this scarce provisional
