3c Mothers, 3c Wisconsin, 1c-10c National Parks, Imperforate (738 var., 739 var., 740-749 var). Each with Stanley Gibbons guarantee backstamp and "FDR" as well as position, No. 738 has the same handstamps but is perforated normally, large margins, Very Fine, as discussed in the Scott Catalogue and familiar to most stamp collectors, in 1934 Postmaster General James A. Farley gifted sheets of the National Parks and other issues, in imperforate form without gum, to select dignitaries, including the stamp-collecting President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the uproar this caused among collectors led to the mass printing of the imperforate sheets, now known as "Farley's Follies" (Scott Nos. 752-765), the set offered here is indistinguishable from the imperforate Farleys except for the Roosevelt backstamps, applied after the Roosevelt auction, as such we count them as the normal issue
6c Disney, Imperforate Horizontally (1355b). Top left plate nos. block of six, Mint N.H. but P.F. certificate notes a "vertical mark on the gum from moisture" on the right pair (it is actually the left pair), Very Fine and extremely rare plate block of this error, the 2023 Scott Error Catalogue (formerly known as the Datz Catalogue) notes only 50 pairs are known, we offered a top right plate block in our 1979 Rarities sale and apart from that example this is the only plate block we have encountered, with 1998 P.F. certificate, unpriced as a plate block
8.4c Steinway Grand Piano Coil, Imperforate (1615Cf). Mint N.H. joint line pair, bright paper, large margins, "Oklahoma City Okla." precancel
VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A RARE MINT NEVER-HINGED JOINT LINE PAIR OF THE 8.4-CENT STEINWAY PIANO WITH OKLAHOMA CITY BUREAU PRECANCEL.
With 2023 P.S.E. certificate.
18c International Year of the Disabled, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Horizontally (1925a). Mint N.H., blind vertical perfs as listed, Very Fine and rare, Scott states only 10 pairs are recorded and this is only the second example we have offered since keeping computerized records 30 years ago, with 2012 P.F. certificate
18c Alcoholism, Vertical Pair, Imperforate Horizontally (1927b). Mint N.H. block of four, blind vertical perfs as listed, Very Fine and extremely rare, Scott states only three pairs are recorded, apart from this block we offered an additional pair in 2016 — if Scott is correct then this represents two-thirds of the total population, with 1997 P.F. certificate, Scott value as two pairs
18c Washington & Monument, Coil, Magenta Omitted (2149f). Mint N.H. strip of seven, the magenta color is normal in the left stamp and progressively reduces until it is completely omitted in the right stamp, Extremely Fine and undoubtedly rare as this error has never been listed since the stamp was issued in 1985, with 2024 P.S.E. certificate logically assigning the Scott number as 2149f (which is the next available letter)
22c Republic of Texas, Dark Red Omitted (2204b). Mint N.H., Very Fine, a rare and striking color-omitted error, only twenty recorded according to Scott, with 1995 P.F. certificate
29c Minerals, Sliver Litho Omitted (2703b). Mint N.H. strip of four with bottom plate no. 11111-1 selvage, slight ink smearing, Extremely Fine and very rare, Scott states two strips of four are known, both in block format, we are not sure if this was previously part of a block or if this is a third strip
29c Cranes, Pair, Double Impression of Black & Magenta Engraved (2868c). Mint N.H. vertical pair showing both designs, engraved Black "USA" and crane names clearly doubled, engraved Magenta "29" also doubled, Very Fine and rare, one pane of 20 of the Cranes Issue was discovered with double impressions, the top two rows of five show doubling of both the Black ("USA" and crane names) and Magenta engraved colors, this is a striking and very rare double impression modern error, with 2015 P.F. certificate, accompanied by normal pair
34c Apples and Oranges, Die Cutting Omitted (3492d). Vertical strip of four on self-adhesive backing paper, including two pairs the designs with die cutting completely omitted, Very Fine and scarce, 2013 P.S.E. certificate no longer accompanies (printout from P.S.E. website is included), Scott value as two pairs
34c Apples and Oranges, Magenta Omitted (3492f var). Unfolded self-adhesive booklet pane of 20, four stamps in bottom half magenta omitted, creating "yellow" oranges and "green" apples, one apple stamp in top pane also magenta omitted along with three other stamps in top pane and one in bottom pane partially or mostly omitted, Very Fine and striking error, Scott lists black "34 USA" omitted (3492c) and yellow omitted (3492f) but does not list this error, we have catalogued it as a variety of the yellow omitted error (which is priced at $3,500 for a pane showing four error stamps)
37c Dr. Seuss, Die Cutting Omitted (3835a). Bottom left corner plate no. S111111 block of four on self-adhesive backing, Very Fine and extremely rare, the 2023 Scott Error Catalogue (formerly known as the Datz Catalogue) notes only two panes are known — since this issue contained two bottom plate blocks per pane then only four plate blocks are known, with 2023 P.S.E. certificate, unlisted as a plate block, SCV as two pairs
