6c Baseball, Black Omitted (1381a). Mint N.H. with left selvage, Very Fine example of this popular error, accompanied by a dramatically misperfed normal stamp showing "Professional Baseball" at top instead of bottom
6c Christmas, Imperforate (1384b). Mint N.H. block of ten, left two pairs are completely imperforate, the other six stamps show varying degrees of horizontal blind perfs but are imperforate vertically (unlisted in Scott this way), Very Fine and scarce, especially as a large block, Datz states only 25 pairs are reported, accompanied by No. 1934a pair within a strip of ten, Scott value counting two pairs of No. 1384b without premium for the other six stamps
15c Electronics, Engraved Black Inscriptions Omitted (1502a). Mint N.H. with left selvage, centered slightly to left as are all the examples we have encountered, Fine, ex Floyd, with 1993 P.F. certificate, accompanied by normal stamp
24c Bicentennial Souvenir Sheet, "U.S.A./24c" Omitted, Imperforate (1688f). Mint N.H., quite beautiful without the denominations and perforations distracting from the painting image, Very Fine and scarce
31c Bicentennial Souvenir Sheet, "U.S.A./31c" Omitted, Imperforate (1689f). Mint N.H., Very Fine and scarce
15c John Paul Jones, Perf 12 (1789B). Mint N.H. bottom left corner plate nos. A0001-A0005 block of ten, fresh colors and well-centered throughoutVERY FINE. AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE MINT NEVER-HINGED PLATE BLOCK OF THE PERF 12 JOHN PAUL JONES ISSUE. THIS IS THE FIRST WE HAVE OFFERED AT AUCTION IN MORE THAN 30 YEARS.
This issue was printed by the American Bank Note Company and perforated in three different formats: Perf 11 x 12 (Scott 1789), Perf 11 All Around (Scott 1789A) and Perf 12 All Around (Scott 1789B). It is believed that the USPS was unaware that there were different perforations. The Perf 12 All Around is by far the rarest. We have not offered any type of multiple -- much less a plate block since keeping computerized records in 1993. Consultation with a leading dealer expert on this issue revealed that there are probably fewer than eight in existence (a sheet of 200 would yield four plate blocks).
