2c Carmine, Coil (393). Mint N.H., brilliant color, gorgeous centering with wide margins, Extremely Fine Gem, a superb stamp in every respect, ex Hoffman, with 1996 P.F. (for pair) and 2005 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95), only six grade higher
3c Deep Violet, Coil (394). Mint N.H., brilliant color on bright paper, Jumbo margins, Extremely Fine Gem, a huge stamp, ex Hoffman, with 1996 P.F. certificate
50c Violet (422). Top imprint, plate no. 5749 and letter "A" block of six with wide selvage, original gum, top row Mint N.H., bottom row lightly hinged, rich color on fresh paper, slight internal crease in top right stamp with a bit of offset ink on gum in same place
VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE PLATE BLOCK OF THE 50-CENT PERF 12 DOUBLE-LINE WATERMARKED FRANKLIN ISSUE, SCOTT 422.
Full or wide-top plate blocks of the 50c Perf 12 with double-line watermark are rare. Lewis Kaufman records only nine full top and five bottom plate blocks. For the collector who is happy with lightly hinged gum, this is one of the few best wide-top examples extant.

12c Claret Brown (435). Mint N.H. wide top plate no. 6900 block of six, intense color on bright paper, fresh and Fine-Very Fine, ex "Saddleback", with 2007 P.F. certificate
20c Ultramarine (438). Mint N.H. wide top plate no. 6909 block of six with wide selvage, bright color, exceptionally fresh, tiny natural perf indentation at bottom center

4c Brown, Coil (446). Mint N.H. pair, bright shade, crisp impression, unusually choice centering with wide and balanced margins, fresh and Extremely Fine, a beautiful pair, ex Hoffman and Curtis, with 2001 P.F. (for strip of four) and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (XF 90 Jumbo)
2c Carmine, Ty. II, Coil (491). Joint line pair, original gum, lightly hinged, deep rich color, outstanding centering
EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE JOINT LINE PAIR OF THE 2-CENT ROTARY TYPE II COIL.
Unlike most other issues, the horizontal coil is actually scarcer than the vertical coil. It was in production for only a short period of time before being replaced by the Type III, Scott 492.
Ex "Vineyard" and Hoffman. With 1962, 1987, 2003 P.F. and 2005 P.S.E. certificates (OGph, XF 90). Only one joint line pair grades higher (at 95, ex Whitman, Sale 968B, lot 635) and none share this 90 grade. SCV $13,000.
2c Deep Rose, Ty. Ia (500). Mint N.H. full top plate no. 10208 block of six, incredibly intense Deep Rose color on fresh paper, remarkably well-centered
EXTREMELY FINE PLATE BLOCK OF THE SCARCE 2-CENT TYPE Ia, SCOTT 500, WITH FULL TOP SELVAGE.
Full top plate blocks of Scott 500, which comes from the experimental Type Ia plate, are rare and almost invariably off center. This is easily one of the finest we have ever encountered.
