Vibrant color, well-centered with balanced margins, slightly disturbed original gum described on 1982 P.F. certificate as "original gum", 2019 P.S.E. certificate states this is used with a removed cancel but does not mention the gum -- very unlikely, since cancelled examples of No. 30 are much scarcer than unused stamps -- Very Fine, offered on its own merits, Scott Retail as original gum $1,200.00, Scott Retail as used $1,300.00

The 5c Brown Type II is far rarer in unused multiples than the Orange Brown (Scott 30). Unlike the 1861 Orange Brown, the earlier printing in Brown was not left in Southern post offices when the issue was demonetized in August 1861.
