2c Lake (406c). Original gum, barely hinged, remarkably well-centered, deep fiery color in this distinctive shadeEXTREMELY FINE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 2-CENT 1912 ISSUE IN THE DISTINCTIVE LAKE SHADE.
Through an error at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, a small quantity of this stamp was erroneously printed using the inks in use at the time for the Postage Due issues.

Small group including two blocks of four of 1c, one with vertical guideline, original gum, pencil notations on gum, 2c including unused and used pairs, unused original gum, pencil notations, pair with Kansas City double oval cancels, Very Fine group, one with 2008 P.F. certificate, in December 1914, the Kansas City post office had an oversupply of imperforate stamps, originally intended for vending machines, the supply of stamps was rouletted with women's dressmaking tracing wheels, and official approval for their release was given by Washington

This variety is the result of an error in mixing a small batch of inks. This is the first block we have offered since keeping computerized records 30 years ago.

20c Ultramarine (419). Mint N.H., radiant color and crisp impression on bright paper, unusually choice centeringEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1914 20-CENT FRANKLIN, WHICH IS GRADED SUPERB 98 BY P.S.E. THIS IS A DIFFICULT ISSUE TO OBTAIN IN SUCH OUTSTANDING CONDITION.
This is the first 20c stamp to be issued in the Washington-Franklin series, and was intended for use especially on parcel post packages after the discontinuance of special stamps for that purpose. It was in use for approximately six months before the perforation gauge was changed from 12 to 10.
Ex "Hanover". With 2005 and 2018 P.S.E. certificates (both Superb 98; SMQ $4,750.00). Only two grade higher (at 98J and 100) and one other shares this desirable grade.

Four Mint N.H. stamps, first with 1989 P.F. certificate as "Mustard Yellow" (unlisted in Scott), the second two with 2006 P.F. certificate for a block as "Golden Yellow" (both stamps come from the block), last is the standard Orange Yellow, we do detect a marked difference with the first stamp at least (which is ex Saadi), the next two are a bit more subtle but do differ slightly from the last, Scott value as all normal $320.00
