Perfectly centered, the intense impression is framed by phenomenally wide and balanced margins all around, neat purple registry cancel ("Colo."), bright white paper, most recent certificate notes "guide line abraded along perforations at top"EXTREMELY FINE GEM APPEARING USED EXAMPLE OF THE $1.00 TRANS-MISSISSIPPI, WHICH MANY BELIEVE TO BE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL 19TH CENTURY UNITED STATES STAMP.
This stamp has long been considered one of the finest used examples of the $1.00 Trans-Mississippi extant. Previous certificates, from the Philatelic Foundation in 1995 and 2004, and from Professional Stamp Experts in 2011, have all opined that the stamp was genuine, with no flaws. The most recent P.F. certificate, from 2013, states that the guideline is abraded.

A Power Search review found only two other examples of the $2.00 Trans-Mississippi in Mint N.H. condition with top plate number -- one in a plate block of four and one in a pair.
