Rich color, used with 1c Blue (63) in a very deep shade, tied by "New-York Sep. ? 1861" duplex datestamp on College of Physicians and Surgeons corner card cover to Rockford Ill., Very Fine and a nice combination of the late 1861 3c Pink and the 1c paying the carrier fee on a corner card cover, the College of Physicians and Surgeons became the official medical school of Columbia University only one year before this cover was mailed, it was the first school in the American Colonies to grant the M.D. degree, in 1770, ex Diamond, with 2014 P.F. certificate
