3c Eagle and Coin, Perforated Essay on Wove Paper (Brazer 56E-Gc). Two, in Red and Violet Brown, original gum, h.r., one with slight gum adherences on front, Very Fine, listed in Brazer only in Red Brown, these are undoubtedly rare as we have offered more than 10 examples of the Eagle & Coin large die essays over the last 15 years but none of these perforated and gummed essays, attributed to Butler & Carpenter, this may be a Revenue essay

2c Red Brown, Blue, Hugh McCullough Portrait, Percussion Cap Plate Essays, Imperforate (Turner Essay 41, 41-A). Red Brown in a pair, Blue in a strip of three and single, also Black in a pair, all with caps "fired" resulting in central hole in each essay, also 1c No. 156 "unfired" with intact cap (we don't recommend hitting it with a hammer), Fine-Very Fine, amazing essays, the "exploding" stamps are among the more inventive concepts to prevent fraudulent reuse, accompanied by article from Linn's Stamp News discussing these scarce essays
