VERY FINE APPEARANCE. THIS IS THE LARGEST RECORDED MULTIPLE OF THE IMPERFORATE 10-CENT CERTIFICATE FIRST ISSUE. ESPECIALLY DESIRABLE ON THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT.

Three-volume collection of approximately 325 items, most are First thru Third Issue checks and documents, balance are later issues, documents are mostly checks, receipts, drafts, bills of exchange and four stock certificates (three are American Coal Co.), many in color or with ornate designs, a few better uses including no. R1c used on a promissory note payable in three days (to circumvent the 2c tax on checks), two no. R9a used on separate Adams Express Co. printed receipts (one in red), some overlapped multiple frankings ('tapeworm' style), etc., some have faults, Very Good-Very Fine lot
