A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE $1,000.00 SILVER TAX STAMP WITH WIDE SPACING. LESS THAN A DOZEN ARE KNOWN.

This is one of the keys to a complete collection of these issues. As an indication of rarity, none was offered in our recent Scarsdale sale, and only one other example (Serial no. 752, with staple holes) was found with Power Search.
1c Carmine Rose, Narcotic Tax (RJA26). With "Narcotic/E. L. Co./3-19-19" three-line overprint, fresh color, few light creases and a large sealed tear at top, Fine appearance, this was used exclusively by Eli Lilly & Co. in Indianapolis, it is only the third we have offered since keeping computerized records.
