Richard Friedberg records a total of thirteen used copies of this issue. Of these at least six have faults.

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXTREMELY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE $1,000.00 1942 SERIES SILVER TAX ISSUE. ESPECIALLY DESIRABLE CANCELLED SOLELY BY THE PURPLE HANDSTAMP

This is one of the keys to a complete collection of these issues. As an indication of rarity, none was offered in our recent Scarsdale sale, and only one other example (Serial no. 752, with staple holes) was found with Power Search.
