2c Carmine Lake, Ty. I (249). Mint N.H., brilliant color on post-office fresh paper, well-balanced margins, Extremely Fine, with 1999, 2004 P.F. and 2013 P.S.E. certificates (XF 90; SMQ $1,200.00)
2c Carmine, Ty. II (251). Original gum, barest trace of hinging, bright color, well-centered, Very Fine and choice, with 1986 P.F. certificate as "unused OG, genuine" (meaning Mint N.H.)
2c Carmine, Ty. III (252). Mint N.H., vibrant color on fresh paper, choice centering, Extremely Fine, with 1997 P.F. certificate for block

Ex Killien. With 1993 P.F. (for block of four) and 2006 P.S.E. certificates (XF 90; SMQ $2,500.00). Only two stamps have been graded higher and only two others share this grade -- statistics which have not changed in more than three years
50c Orange (260). 6c Dull Brown (271). Mint N.H., wide margins and essentially perfect centering, proof-like impression on post-office fresh paperEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1895 6-CENT WATERMARKED BUREAU ISSUE.

This stamp was broken from a block of four sometime before 2004. Its partner to its left, with similar centering, realized $15,500 in our 2004 Rarities sale. With copy of 1984 P.F. certificate for block of four, this the top right stamp.
