12c Green (117). Horizontal pair, original gum, bright shade, dry print causing unusual halo effect around lettering, right stamp trivial natural inclusion and short perfs, left stamp tiny pinholeVERY FINE APPEARANCE. A SCARCE ORIGINAL-GUM PAIR OF THE 12-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE.
Only eight unused blocks are recorded. Ex Coulter.
15c Brown & Blue, Ty. I (118). Gorgeous centering with wide margins, rich colors and proof-like impressions (actually we believe it is the Dark Brown & Blue shade, but not certified as such), neat strike of target cancelEXTREMELY FINE GEM. A GORGEOUS USED EXAMPE OF THE 15-CENT TYPE I 1869 PICTORIAL ISSUE.
With 2002 P.F. and 2005 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $4,000.00). Only four have graded higher to date and seven others share this grade.

Our census of 1869 Inverts, published in the February 1999 Chronicle and updated with three new stamps, contains 93 examples of the 15c Invert, including three unused and 90 used (one in the British Library's Tapling collection).
