$2.00 Dark Blue, Large Die Essay on India (312-E1). Die sunk on 90 x 105mm card, numerous lines absent from frame and portraitVERY FINE. AN EXTRAORDINARY AND UNIQUE PROGRESSIVE DIE ESSAY OF THE $2.00 1902 ISSUE. ONE OF THE MOST OUTSTANDING OF ALL BUREAU ISSUE ESSAYS AND PROOFS.
This is the only recorded die essay for the $2.00 1902 Issue. It is described correctly in Brazer as Dark Blue ("unique"), but the Scott Catalogue still incorrectly describes the color as Black (even though the Scott illustration is in Dark Blue from this impression).
