A BEAUTIFUL SET OF THE TRANS-MISSISSIPPI BI-COLOR LARGE DIE ESSAYS, ALL DIE-SUNK ON FULL-SIZE CARDS.
Of the 166 sets printed in these colors, many were hybrids. This is a very choice set without any hybrids.

The single-color large die proofs are even scarcer than the bi-colored essay sets.

Trans-Mississippi -- "Omaha" Exposition Stamps. Printed notice from "Office of Third Assistant Postmaster General, Washington, D.C., June 11, 1898", with table at top listing each denomination, its design and color, states "The issue of these stamps began June 10th, and will cease December 31st, 1898", also details how postmasters can requisition the stamps, light file folds, Very Fine, a wonderful collateral item, the stamps were not actually issued until June 17, and this notice reflects the delay, ex "World's Fair"
